INTERO is a metal band from Nijmegen Rockcity, The Netherlands; a harsh metal band in which the "groove" is of great importance. The band was founded in 2005 by members of Nijmegen based bands Obeah, De Staat, Emperors of the Black. At first the music was mainly influenced by New York Hardcore but as time progressed the musical orientation shifted more to metal. The sound could be compared to a mix of bands like Pantera, Prong, Hatebreed and Machine head. Here and there you'll hear a hint of death metal and a whiff of nu-metal.
In 2008 the original bass player Jop had to leave due to his other band "De Staat" getting signed. Finding a replacement turned out to be more difficult than initially anticipated and eventually rhythm guitar player Vincento switched to bass and showed himself a worthy successor.
INTERO is most definitely not a metalband that's about blood, skulls and upside-down-crosses. Their lyrics are about individual emotions and frustrations, as well as recent atrocities in the western (media)culture. However, aggression is the most important drive behind their music. INTERO's catch-phrase: Stop bitching and make noise!
